Our Identity- AR Fitness and Nutrition

Intro

For anyone starting at a new gym, it’s important for you to know that gym’s identity. What style of workouts is it? What makes the gym unique? What are its amenities? What elements keep you desiring to come back? The reality is, when you join a gym, it’s a big step forward. It is you trusting the staff, coaches, and owners with your health and fitness. For this article, I want to explain who AR Fitness and Nutrition (ARFN) is, and why we believe we can help almost everyone with their health and fitness goals.

Our programming

  • the core

    • When deciding on a gym, priority one for most people is choosing a gym that fits their ideal workout style. We are, at our core, a strength and conditioning workout program performed in a group class setting. Many gyms/workout regimes specialize in certain facets of fitness like cardiovascular training, strength training, bodyweight training, etc. We at ARFN do not specialize in any singular element of fitness, but rather collectively work to build all facets. We believe that specialization, while far better than not working out at all, can be a detriment to your long-term health and fitness.

    • Our program, unlike most mainstream strength and conditioning programs (ex: Crossfit, Orange Theory, Camp Gladiator, etc.), segments strength and conditioning into different sessions entirely. On certain days of the week, we will solely focus on strength, power, and hypertrophy training, while other days of the week we will focus on cardiovascular specific training. Most popular programs combine it all into one session entirely.

Our program structure should be to the benefit of the athlete in almost every circumstance. It will allow for proper progressive overload for better strength gains, while minimizing injury risk. It should give better opportunities for coaches to work on refining athletes’ movements on a week-to-week basis. Finally, preliminary research has shown that segmenting your training in this format should better improve your overall fitness.

We also acknowledge that some people want to focus on their strength or conditioning training exclusively. While we will always suggest doing both for your overall health and fitness, we also understand that doing anything is far beyond doing nothing. If you are a true lifting junkie or cardio bunny, you always have the option to come on those days respectively to get your fitness fix. This can also work in your favor by signing up for our 3x/week membership. 3 days a week are cardio focused, while 3 days a week are strength focused.

  • Intentions

    • Our intentions are simple, we want the best for you in your health, fitness, and wellness. While that is not a unique trait to us, we have found that it is becoming less prominent in the health and fitness field. To know if we’re serious about this, you are just going to have to try us out!
  • Nutrition

    • Focusing on elements of fitness is incredibly important for your health but is drastically diminished when there’s a lack of focus on nutrition. The reality is nutrition can play a bigger role in your health than exercise. Because of this fact, we don’t just own and operate a gym, we also provide nutrition services to our members and the public. That is why we are AR Fitness and Nutrition.
  • Consultations

    • Consultations are a part of every new membership. They include goal setting, workout history, discussion of past and current injuries, and a mobility assessment. This consultation will help us understand who you are as an athlete and how we can best help you.
  • Other Commodities

    • While not the most important part of a gym, amenities still matter, and we want to offer as much as we can. Outside of workout programming that can be catered to you, and hands on coaching to ensure your safety and results, ARFN offers a meal service, personal training, athletic training, a shower facility, new equipment, and more.

Our Culture

There is one thing that stands out more than any in group fitness workout settings, and that is the community. It's your friends and future gym peers that keep you coming back. It’s coaches and athletes that care about the success of each other that inevitably changes your life. Fitness and nutrition matter, but not to the extent that community does. At ARFN we care about you and fostering a positive community that supports each other. Our time together won’t end when class ends. We look forward to having you at or cookouts, holiday parties, competitions, and more.

Our future

Our goal is not to be the biggest gym or have the most members. Our hope is that the care that we offer for each member individually will inspire others to join the gym. We want to focus on helping you reach your goals and beyond. Let the rest fall where it may.
